A Garden Party Wedding Delight

Spring signals wedding season in Sydney and I have to admit I have been a bit carried away with the magic of weddings recently. My sister is getting married on Saturday and lots of our friends are about to get married in the coming months.

To top it off it's hubby's and my first wedding anniversary very soon - eek, I can't believe its almost been one year since we were married!!

So when I stumbled across this delightful garden party themed wedding I had to share it...Enjoy!

I love the vintage photography and the styling touches like the croquet scene, tea cups and floral arrangements; all of which made made this a truly unique wedding.

I do hope you have had a wonderful week so far :)

Small, but Perfectly Stylish

Small spaces decorated to create an illusion of being larger than their actual size have always fascinated me, so unsurprisingly, I was captivated when I discovered this 93 sq metre chic home, which has not only been styled to perfection, but also deceptively disguises how small the space actually is...

The lovely list:
* The heavenly colour scheme; muted espresso, with shades of pink and splashes of green and red
* Vintage details like the ornate chandeliers, fridge, louis-style chairs and picture frames
* The luxe dressing room, complete with a vintage rolling rack
* Quilted bed head - I just adore the colour!
* The basement turned wine cellar, with open wine racks.

So much to fall in love with!

Do tell me, what's on your lovely list for this stylish abode?

A Week of Lovelies {what inspired me this week}

Hello lovelies! Thank goodness its Friday that's all I can say! I am so looking forward to sleeping in and spending time with my gorgeous husband and friends. So many lovely things in the blogosphere this week, but here are my favourites...

Olivia rocked New York Fashion Week (of course) wearing nothing less than a fabulous ensemble. How cute are her booties?

I fell in love with the delightful home of photographer Kimberly Cornelison and Alfie Ferreyra. The yellow, blue and white colour palette they have used makes their home so cheerful and full of happiness.

This week I discovered the blog Pretty Light, written by Elena who is also a talented photograher. I love this shot of the macaroons and pretty tea cup, so lovely!
Elena has many more shots on her Flickr, go and check it out.

That's my wrap lovelies! Anything exciting planned for the weekend? Whatever you do, I hope you have a fabulous couple of days off.

Cherry Pop!

Hello my dears, I am sorry for my absence this week, but things have been a little crazy and out of sorts which meant no time for blogging.

My sister's hen's party on the weekend went of with plenty of bang; it was a fabulous evening of champagne, laughter and girly fun!

There has been so much excitement in the blogosphere about Rue Magazine this week and I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed by every last detail in the mag.

What a fabulous achievement from the lovely ladies Crystal, Anne & Caitlin, who brought their dream to life; I couldn't be more excited for you! If you have not yet seen the magazine, go and run now!

On a side note - how fabulous are these cherry red Sergio Rossi pumps? I'm having an affair with red accessories at the moment, and these snake-skin shoes made my heart flutter ;)

I hope you have had a brilliant week!

A Week of Lovelies {what inspired me this week}

Hello loves! It's hard to believe another week has gone by; well I'm not complaining really, I am rather looking forward to this weekend. On Saturday night I am hosting my sister's Bachelorette party and after weeks of planning I am super excited about the soiree we have organised. Nothing too fancy, but a lovely evening of cocktails, canapes, games, laughter and cupcakes await!

I haven't done a "what inspired me this week" post in a while, but thought I would do one this week as I found so much loveliness in blog-land lately. Would love to know your thoughts on whether you would like to see this as a regular feature.

So here we go....

Alexa Chung's much anticipated collection for Madewell has finally launched. Such a pretty collection you won't be disappointed by her taken on modern vintage. Check out the full range here.

I'm loving these utterly fabulous chevron tiles in this bathroom, designed by New York based interior designer Christina Murphy.

How pretty is this darling print? So perfectly French and Chic! This, and many more lovely prints are designed by Eva Juliet and available on her Etsy store. Thanks to Helena over at A Diary of A Lovely for introducing me to this delightful store!

Summer Watkins, the talented stylist behind the blog Grey Likes Weddings has launched her stunning portfolio site. Check it out for lots of pretty wedding, styling and party inspiration.

That's my wrap lovelies! Until next week, wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Bookshelf Art

I love big, open bookshelves, being able to style them and turn them into a focal point of a room.

This fabulous bookshelf caught my eye; whilst it has been styled to perfection and looks simple enough to replicate, it's not as easy as it looks. Karen from The Art of Doing Stuff said it took months of moving things around to get her bookshelf to look this good!

To create your own bookshelf art check out IKEA's 'Billy' range of bookshelves. They are very affordable and look great too.

Have a fabulous day lovelies xx

Shades of {Blue}

Hello my dears, how has your week been so far? Mine has been busy, busy and I have been planning some exciting new things for this blog, which I will be revealing soon!

Lately I have been seeing so many lovely shades of blue, all incredibly pretty. Do you have a favourite shade of blue? I'm tossing up between duck-egg blue and turquoise - such a hard decision!

Trend to Watch {Animal Print}

One trend I have been seeing quite a lot of lately is animal print.

Celebs like Chloe Sevigny are glamming it up on the red carpet;

Whilst Katie Holmes rocked it at her appearance on
David Letterman this week;

 And who can forget the highly coveted Mulberry 'Alexa' Bag?

But most intriguing to me is the animal print trend in decor. Having more of a classic-style interiors personality myself, animal print is not something I would normally have considered. But after seeing these spaces, I might well be considering adding some animal print elements in our apartment.

These interiors definitely show that animal print can most definitely work in classic-style spaces; it just depends how you choose to use it - whether it be adding it in subtle touches such as cushions, or going further by making it a focal point in the room.

What do you think of animal print interiors; love them or loathe them?

Colour Splash

When I spied this fabulous Spanish holiday home over at the Vintage & Chic blog I was instantly was smitten.

I love how white has become the perfect canvas for adding splashes of vibrant colour, and how bold prints have been carefully added to create a fresh and quirky retreat.

Adding a mix of vintage and modern pieces, like this 70s style chair, adds so much interest to the room.

The Lovely List:
*Built in shelves
*Painted white floorboards
*Animal print cushion (!)
*Red & white stripped floor rug
*Outdoor entertaining area with fabulously comfy couches

What's on your lovely list for this vibrant holiday home?

Photographer William Waldron is a case example of someone whose portfolio you look at and immediately think "Wow, utterly amazing".

Based in New York, Waldron has shot numerous covers and has featured editorials in all the top shelter publications including Elle Decor, House Beautiful and Town and Country.

Looking through his portfolio it is clear to see why he has had so many covers - the way he captures the light and shade of each room in perfect composition is breathtaking.
