A Little Bit of Lovely

Hello my lovely blog friends; I do apologise for my long absence, but I started a new job last week (hurrah!) which has left me time poor and with not much head space for lovely interiors inspiration

Do bare with me, I promise I will be back up to speed soon.

On a side note, I am completely coveting the ad campaign created by JCrew to promote the new movie, The Romantics. I cannot wait to see it, it looks just like my kind of movie!

 I'm a big fan of Katie Holmes, so was thrilled to see her looking fab in these shots. She looks amazing as ever and is perfectly matched with JCrew's cute / chic / preppy style.

How good does it look?!

See you soon lovelies!

Bathroom Love

How lovely are these bathrooms? I don't know about you, but I am enamored by the vintage-chic style they both radiate. I adore the matching shower curtain, towels, rubbish bin in the last image, it looks extremely elegant.

I hope your week has been off to a good start my dears!

House Tour {Bedroom}

Hello lovelies! As promised I have some shots for you of our bedroom. It's still a work in progress, hence the vignette-style shots, but it's starting to come together...

You may remember in this post that the bedroom room actually started out a rather pretty shade of grey, but I since changed my mind about the colour - it was lovely but didn't go with our bed or other furniture! Rather than buy a new bed we decided to paint the walls white, a decision I am not regretting one bit, I am in love with the white.

Next on the list to fix up will be adding some artwork and finally putting up our curtains. I'm also considering some different draw knobs now that a whole black and white theme is going on. More pics soon!

Lonny Love {Shabby Chic}

The latest issue of Lonny is filled with lots of yummy interiors including a peek inside English designer, Cath Kidston's London home and the blissful beachside abode owned by Vicente Wolfe; but what I found to be most inspiring was the feature on Shabby Chic Couture owner, Rachel Ashwell.

The evidence of Rachel "Walking her {Shabby Chic} talk" is written all over her beautifully styled London apartment.

Set against a backdrop of elegant white, her apartment is filled with blush pinks, delicate gold details, and exquisite vintage pieces including a charming mirrored wardrobe.

I also loved Rachel's five tips for adding relaxed elegance to your home; I think I will be taking on board some of her advice!

What inspired you in the latest issue of Lonny?

Shades of {Lilac}

Lilac is such a soft and delicate hue; these shades are so pretty I couldn't resist sharing them with you.

I can't wait until hydrangeas are back in season - they never fail to brighten my mood!

Black & White {Glamour}

Happy Monday lovelies! How was your weekend? Mine was full to the brim with birthdays, lunches, dinner and everything in between!

There's nothing like a bit of glamour in life, especially in your decor. Black and white seems to always play a central role in glamorous rooms just like it has in Aerin Lauder's study {below} and this fabulous bedroom {bottom}.

This week I am lucky enough to have the week off work which I am dedicating to finally getting our apartment sorted. There were so many projects we started when we moved in that somehow lost momentum, but this week hubby and I will be tackling them. Black and white glamour is definitely part of the plan, mixed in with some neutral shades of beige. Can't wait!

Fingers crossed I will be able to share some of our projects with you at the end of the week.

Love Her Style {Lady in White}

I love this cute and chic outfit worn by Mandy Bork, from Germany's Next Top Model.

Don't you think the Prada clutch makes the perfect accessory for this fresh summer look?

Colour Punch {A Summer Beach House}

In need of some inspiration to lift me out of the dreary cold winter in Sydney, I was momentarily transported when I came across this delightful beach house.

Filled with colour, light and cheerfulness it has been the perfect distraction from my winter blues!

See the full beach house here.

I hope your day has been filled with loveliness.

Wedding Photography: People with their Pooches!

I love the idea of having your pet pooch being part of your special day; hubby and I would have been all for having Charlie at our wedding, but they didn't allow dogs! So when I came across these lucky couples that were able to have their little fury friends play a role in their wedding, I was thoroughly impressed.

These gorgeous shots definitely brightened up my day; I hope they do the same for you!

Kitchen Renovation {Drab to Fab}

Welcome to a brand new week my dears! I love a good before and after and the one I have to share today is a stunning transformation.

Below is the 'before' picture - a drab, brown and very dated kitchen. Admittedly it does look like this shot is taken at night which is why it's so dark, but you can tell its in desperate need of a revamp...

{Before}

{After}

Fabulous, yes? Such an amazing transformation its hard to believe it's the same kitchen. What makes this renovation so fab is how light and bright it now is, which has made the space look a lot larger. The small details including the light fitting and the faucet add to the overall 'modern with a dash of country' charm.

As for the colour combination, I am loving the turquoise and white, with a hint of red.
